IIT Kanpur Invites Applications from Students for Fellowship Worth Rs 50,000 Per Month
IIT Kanpur is currently accepting applications from students and fresh graduates for the India Agritech Incubation Network (IAIN) Fellowship, which is a Tata Trusts and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded program co-implemented by SIIC IIT Kanpur, Social Alpha, and Collectives for Integrated Livelihood Initiatives (CInI). The purpose of the program is to support students and fresh graduates developing deep technologies in the field of agriculture in Uttar Pradesh with an aim to create a positive impact on smallholder farmers.
Those selected will be paid a monthly fellowship amount of Rs 50,000 for 12 months. Furthermore, the fellows will be given access to IIT Kanpur infrastructure, legal and other financial services, and a dedicated startup support ecosystem. Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre, IIT Kanpur, established in 2000, is one of India’s oldest business and technology incubators promoting startups and social enterprises specialising in manufacturing.
Focus Domains of the IIT Kanpur Fellowship
Students and graduates working across the following domains may apply for the fellowship:
- Climate resilience technology.
- Women friendly Agro machinery.
- Low cost Agro machineries.
- Post-harvest crop management.
- Innovation for high revenue yield.
- Fisheries and animal husbandry.
Who Can Apply for IIT Kanpur Fellowship?
The fellowship opportunity is open to the following participants:
- The candidate must be a student or fresh graduate pursuing engineering or any course within science and engineering disciplines.
- Applicants must be Indian nationals below the age of 35.
- The candidate should be developing an Agritech solution for the small-holder farmers in Uttar Pradesh.
How to Apply for IIT Kanpur Fellowship?
Interested participants will have to submit applications on the official website before 15 November 2021. Applicants will be screened for eligibility and program criteria, and a presentation may also have to be made for the expert panel.
